Pricing questions
How do I pay for API calls?
Fund the wallet on your developer account at developers.fastcac.com. Each call that costs something is charged from it when it runs. There's no setup fee, monthly plan or minimum spend.
What happens when a call can't get an answer?
You aren't charged for it. A name check, lookup or verification that CAC or NIMC can't answer is refunded to your wallet, and some results (a name that fails CAC's basic rules, a number CAC doesn't have) are never charged.
Is testing free?
Yes. Test keys (fc_test_…) never file anything with CAC or move real money. The test wallet comes funded with test money, so you can build the whole flow before you go live.
Does the registration price include CAC's fee?
Yes. The Business Name registration price includes CAC's filing fee, and resubmitting after a CAC query costs nothing extra.
What if my wallet runs out?
Calls that cost something are refused with an insufficient-funds error until you top up. A monitor pauses when its renewal can't be charged, and starts again at the next daily check after your wallet is funded.
