CAC Verification APIs in Nigeria Compared
Five providers that verify Nigerian businesses against CAC: what each one documents, what you get back, and who tells you the price up front.

At a Glance
If you onboard business customers in Nigeria, you need to check them against CAC's register. Several providers sell that as an API. We're one of them, so read this knowing that, and check every provider's docs yourself: we've only listed what each one documents publicly.
- Most providers don't publish CAC prices on their sites. FastCAC publishes every price.
- Several return a business's officers: Dojah, QoreID and FastCAC document it.
- Of these five, only FastCAC documents a registration API, so an applicant who isn't registered can fix it in your flow.
Checked against each provider's public docs and pricing pages on October 29, 2026.

Provider by Provider
FastCAC
Search CAC's register free by name or RC/BN number, then look up a business's full record for ₦200: address, email, and its directors and shareholders, each once with every role they hold, their shares and contact details. The Verification API checks the number, name and status an applicant gives you for free, and their officers for ₦200, as one result: match, partial, no_match or not_found. Monitoringsends a webhook when a business's status or name changes, and the Registration API files Business Names with CAC. Test keys work without touching CAC or real money.
Dojah
Dojah documents a basic CAC lookup (name, type, status and location from an RC number and company type), an advanced lookup that adds the registration date, address, share details and affiliates, and an affiliate lookup that checks one person's roles on a given RC number. It has a sandbox. Its pricing page gives a starting price ("as low as $0.06 per API call") rather than a CAC price.
QoreID
QoreID documents CAC Premium: send an RC, BN or IT number and get the status, registration details, address and officers, with persons with significant control and their share and voting interests. The docs link to a test page.
Youverify and Smile ID
Both include Nigerian business verification in wider KYB products. On October 29, 2026, Youverify's pricing page listed bundled plans and Smile ID's pointed to its sales team. Worth a look if you also need their identity products in one contract.
How to Choose
- Price you can plan around. Can you see the per-call price before you sign? Are failed lookups free?
- What you actually store. If you only need a yes or no, a verification result keeps less personal data than a full record.
- Every role, not just directors. Shareholders and persons with significant control matter for KYB.
- What happens when the check fails. If the applicant isn't registered, can you register them, or do you lose them?
- A test mode you can build against without real money or real businesses.

CAC Verification API FAQs
Which CAC verification API is cheapest?
It's hard to say, because most providers don't publish per-call CAC prices on their sites. FastCAC publishes its prices: free search, ₦200 for a full lookup, free verification (₦200 with officer names) and ₦100 a month per monitored business.
Do these APIs get data from CAC?
They return CAC's register data. CAC's own API, launched with NIBSS in May 2025, is limited to a few selected organisations. Ask any provider where its data comes from and how fresh it is.
Can any of them register a business?
Among the providers here, FastCAC is the one that documents a registration API: it files Business Names with CAC from your app, for ₦35,000 including CAC's fee. That matters when an applicant fails verification because they aren't registered yet.
Which one shows directors and shareholders?
Dojah's advanced lookup, QoreID's CAC Premium and FastCAC's lookup all document officers in the response. FastCAC lists each person once with every role they hold and their shares.
